I'm afraid it's a trainwreck waiting to happen PR wise anyway they do it. Two consoles, two names, different launch windows, can be used together, but the home console isn't compatible with Wii and WiiU games without a dvd drive... Plus they don't have a strong CEO at this time when they need it the most.. I hope they can deliver, I've never had so much fun gaming than now with the Wii U and the 3DS!

Im still of the opinion it will be a hybrid system from the get go,The controller will be a refined sleeker more modern and compact looking Wii U gamepad which doubles up as a handheld,you will be able to port all your Wii U and 3DS games to the new system uniteing all your games on one system. The name? NXV /Nintendo XV the 15th console.

But how can one play the 3ds games on the go if it's just one screen? And if it has two screens will the home console utilize three screens then? That would be trippy...

One single screen,the games will play just like the way DS games play now on Wii U, The 3d option will be dropped for nx playing all 3ds games in 2d

I really hope we can move all our Wiiware and Wii VC games over too,and their much more accessible and user friendly than the dreadful Wii mode.

The New 3DS is already like a mini gamepad anyway. The internet browser, the speed etc.
On the topic of console names, xbox one makes sense because it's supposed to represent the fact that it's an all in round entertainment system. WiiU....well most people dont know what Wii stands for including myself so how would they figure out the U part. I dont like the Wii name, but Wii 2 was what it should've been called.
As for the NX..according to all these rumours I don't really see any groundbreaking innovation like the Wii had. The Wii was a success because of that innovation, motion control. The WiiU also had that, but really it was just like an xbox360 or ps3 minus some features. it just had the gamepad, which basically was the selling point and I guess people aren't interested in that as much as I love it? But if the NX doesn't have some sort of innovation or credible name, how will it succeed when people think nintendo are for kids only so they'll stick with ps and xbox or nx isn't that much better or different than xbox or ps so they won't buy one, which is important because loads of people are buying ps4's and xbox one's, with wiiu left in 3rd place.

In Finland people have bought a Playstation by default since the PS2 came out. Nobody wanted a console that looked like the Gamecube did. The games didn't, and don't matter. It's sad really. My older sons friends have/are getting PS3's and PS4's left and right, and whenever they come to play at our house it becomes clear that they can't play a game, any type of game, at all! But they sure like to tap their phones a lot..
