Nintendo Switch Online Service Launches September 2018

Well. I read about this chatting app too. I'm not sure where though, but according to the CEO of Nintendo they wanted to focus on the main reasons for game systems then they dissed the chatting and social media directly on the Switch: The games.

I like the idea actually myself, but I haven't played many games than Nintendo's games. My friends have played tons of games on PS and Xbox and they like the idea too. According to most of my friends it's a buzz with all the chatting (both voice and text) directly in the game so if it could be moved to a phone they would be very happy. For myself it's nothing I care about, I never play online games much anyway.

So far it's only Splatoon 2 that's working with the chat app. That's what I know anyway. I'm sorry if some is off topic.
