 RD they need to be on the shelves in the first place before they can vanish! Anyway i dont know why Nintendo are denying this. Even if its not true NX will be out no later than next year so they will begin to slow/stop production at some point between now and then. |

well tbh I don't have "extra" cash but as the end of the year approaches I will prob go buy a "stand-by" wii u jus so I have on hand...or has any1 heard are wii u games backward compat with the nx?

we are not sure what the nx will be, but if the rumors are true about it being a two part console. the handheld will come first in 2016 and the console in 2017. no word about wiiu bc yet but i hope for it, interesting times ahead for sure  |

WiiU shortest life span ever? True or not it's the best console i ever owned by a country mile! (an it's not even close. There have been some lifespans under a year long. Major consoles - Jaguar = 1 1/2 years. Virtual Boy had a 6 month lifespan. Nes had a 30 year span 0-0 1983-2003) |

I agree @messi. WiiU has become my favourite console. It's also my most played console. I haven't had many, and my games have been a hit and miss on the other ones.
Almost every game I've played has been a new experience for me, and the social aspect has been a new experience as well. There's been so many great games that have made me want to play more than ever before, and all my favourite games are now from the WiiU, or Wii, or the 3ds (I bought it only because the games made an impact on me).
Without the Wii U I wouldn't have played such great games as Xenoblade Chronicles, the 3d Zelda games, Pikmin, Lego City or Bayonetta, or the great little indie games. Platformers have never been as fun to me as Rayman, the NSMB series, or Donkey Kong... I think that the games have become better with graphical power, content, music, etc..
Plus, without the WiiU I wouldn't have met any of you guys, or played a game online... Ever.
Not bad for a "console that nobody cares about" if you asked me...

Yep, i agree Harri. The social aspect alone is the reason it's become my favourite. I don't use any other social networks except Miiverse and this forum. Have absolutely no intention of either. I did use MySpace for 6 months back on '07 but 99% of social networking is cheap superficial shallow c-rap imo!
Meh, if it wasn't for Nintendo i'd probably never buy a console again! PC all the way for me as all the other 2 are trying to do now is be cheap PC'S an i ain't paying for online!

no not really, I think 1) its cause I have already preconceived notions of it 2) I haven't played any of the "big" franchise games yet...but to me game graphics are a bit better than the wii u but not like black&white compared to color cut sense are the same. controller sux compared to the wii u pro controller. it is cool to have mature titles but if I had to do it over if I bought anything(which I didn't this was a gift) i'd prob buy a used 360 to try out... :/ |

Gotta find the right game is all, maybe. You can buy independent controllers for it that resemble a Pro controller or Dualshock.
No, the difference in graphics is nothing worth writing home about. The AAA titles are becoming rehashed nonsense and too story heavy.. seems the only things they bother innovating in games now is voice acting and getting screenwriters {i really have a problem with cut scenes and dialogue in games, i simply don't care about made up interpersonal c-rap. some can be cool but keep it concise an let me play the damn game ffs}. Many are online orientated too and since you have to pay a premium rate then that puts me right off.
I jus wait for the right game to come along and stick into it
