Just sat through SEGA's Sonic 25th anniversary panel. Now i know they didn't say a game would be announced but it was heavily implied. So what did they announce? a possible future announcement during another 25th anniversary in july! Like i am going to fall for that again! Honestly SEGA you are better than this.

Don't know why they bother with Sonic anymore. 3D anyway. I hope it's a return to the 2D magic with a little less emphasis on speed and a bit on exploring a level.

That was always my annoyance with Sonic. I loved the character and the music is incredible. The 'sonic is an extremely fast platformer' point doesn't apply to the games tho as you're stopped any time you go fast. Even speedrunning the first 3 games includes many periods of stopping where as Mario is constantly moving forward. Perhaps the tech was not capable of making a super long level to go fast in but the last thing i want to do is explore in a Sonic game. Sonic and All-Stars Racing: Transformed is possibly my favourite racer ever. The team have the quality to make a 3D Sonic on par with Mario Galaxy! ...or, maybe they didn't but the idea is possible |

That would be something, that's exactly what we've all wanted (smg style sonic) but your point about the speed thing is why its pointless imo but the tech has to be good enough now in order to make a vast level good enough to speed through without missing things. Maybe they should abandon the idea that he's running character like mario and build him as a vehicle character with obviously tighter turning and stopping controls. All stars on legs! XD
