Triforce heroes looks meh imo and it looks like zelda u will be coming out at a time when they will release NX. Nintendo need new management.

I keep getting a host error. I'll try later. I was expecting a gif of Link on Epona riding by giving us the finger. Guess I'll have to wait.

It sounds like they are confusing things to keep us off track. As far as twist go is this a M. Night Shamalamadingdong inspired direction or a ploy to keep people interested?
So far I'm predicting March. Some say when the NX arrives.

Exactly what I thought when i read it. A twist on the open world is that it won't be open. Sure, we might be able to explore an open world but none of it will be interactive enough till certain points of the story.
Typical Nintendo, give u what u want in derivative fashion.
One question is can the wiiu handle an expansive open world? I think we're all hoping for something similar or bigger in size than WWHD but as a hyrule/traditional land map. WWHD worked due to most of the map being empty allowing for smoother and faster load times in between travelling.

Wind Waker was also originally a Gamecube game, which could handle it smoothly, so I have no doubt the superior Wii U hardware could handle it, especially as the Gamepad screen is not ridiculously demanding (displaying a map and items etc, similar to Xenoblade, which itself is open and vast), unlike for example Star Fox Zero. Oh, and Xenoblade X. It can handle that fantastically.

Sadly I sm not convinced wiiu is capable of a overworld map in the scale promised. Mainly due to no mandatory installs.

They should take Monolith Soft up on their offer of helping them develop Zelda U. They work with stuff like this all the time, they're masters, unlike Zelda's team. Plus, Xenoblade X has packs you can download to make the game run smoother and decrease load times if you have the retail copy, so that's not an issue (because fuck mandatory installs, they suck).

They should do it like Xenoblade where they are optional.

The reason the gamecube handled ww was the fact they stated that the sailing idea came to them in order to make the game load the different parts of the map quicker. It certainly wasn't smooth on gc as the speed of the sailing was the biggest complaint about it (assisting with loading) and this was totally rectified in the hd version ofcourse but I'm still sceptical as the sailing was still very much a chore as it was empty.
That being said, i haven't played xenoblade or monster hunter to compare that type of world to a zelda game so of course I could be wrong but if we got a world map similar in size to wwhd but as a land mass i would be happy. But it has to feel alive with interaction and this combination might just be why we all think it's going to be an NX title.
As for gfx, go 16bit and give us a fuckin stonker of a world to play in!!
