When i'm bored i like to make cups of tea and stare at them in amazement. I'm trying to make a living out of selling pictures of cups of tea but no one will buy them? This world is messed up! EDIT- To keep this on topic, why has no one made a movie about making tea? Are these film producers INSANE?!

When me and my wife were on vacation in Bordeaux France, we decided to try go to the movies there. Just as we expected all the movies were dubbed in the french language. We saw The last Airbender. And it was an interesting experience since we don´t speak french . We chose that movie just because we wanted to se a film that would entertain us with action and effects, and that wouldn´t have a too complicated story. And i was actually pleasantly surprised. I was able to follow the story somewhat even though i didn´t understand the language. And i kind of liked the movie. This was way before i saw the animated series. The last Airbender is by no means a great movie. But i can still enjoy it despite it´s flaws. But it pretty much sucks compared to the animated series. Avatar: The last Airbender is one of the best animated series ever imo.

I can vaguely follow something if it's Japanese, as I know some words from watching subtitles , if there wasn't subtitles. Other than that I have no desire to watch foreign movies.

Hi all. About movies. I'm a fan of anime movies. Totoro and Kiki is favorites of mine. But I like horror/zombie/future-tech but only as anime. Tokyo godfathers is very good, and Perfect blue is a really scary but very much unusual thriller. I like the anime serie Emma too very much, its about a maid in the Victorian London. I have read the manga as well.
An answer about tea making movies. It's already exists. "The colour of purple" is about a family business who's making tea and running a teahouse. It's from the mid 1990s and it's a Vietnamese movie. It's several sequels from the movie as well. Some with French speaking.

Hi all. About movies. I'm a fan of anime movies. Totoro and Kiki is favorites of mine. Hi sakura! I also like Studio Ghibli´s movies. After i visited Studio Ghibli museum in Mitaka Tokyo my interset for the studio grew even bigger. "Princess Mononoke" is my favorite anime movie as i mentioned earlier in this thread . I saw a pretty good anime movie called "Your Name" recently. It´s about a girl and a boy who for unknown reason swap bodies every night they fall asleep. It maby sounds a bit wacky. But i found it quite interresting. They don´t know each others, and live in very separate parts of japan. They need to figure out what´s happening, how to communicate with each others and also try to get used to live each others lives. It makes for some entertaining and funny moments. But i also found my self emotionally invested in the film. And the animation is absolutely gorgeaous. I haven´t seen any of the other movies you mentioned. But thanks for the recommendation .

I also know a few words of Japanese from watching anime, and from practising japanese martial arts. Watching foreign movies is for me a way to discover new talents and interesting movies. When Hollywood seems out of fresh ideas for movies, and is stuck in making remakes, reboots and sequels. It´s nice to watch movies from other cultures.. well as long as there are subtitles .

Awesome, Jarcool. I haven't been far than to Western part of Russia. Tokyo godfathers and Perfect blue is Satoshi Ken's works. He died in cancer 5 years after the release of Tokyo godfathers. He's not a member of studio Ghibli.
Emma hasn't been released in Europe, I have the US version of the serie. The manga is however published in Swedish. Same with Perfect blue but it has been released in the UK though. I have the movie version from the UK. Tokyo godfathers I bought for 19 SEK in ÖB for some years ago. A real bargain if you ask me.

I haven't seen "your name" but I know about the movie. I like this kind of animes. Like Spirited away, the one who the parents turned into real pigs. Little like that but more children's way of storyline but in an adult way too.

Your name sounds like it will be funny actually . I can understand though from what you're saying about all these remakes, yes. It's either a remake or a remake with a female cast. You're not the first i've heard of someone who practices martial arts haha, someone i know from miiverse also told me something like that.

For example japanese horror movies like The Ring and The Grudge. Old boy from South Korea and REC from Spain also got Hollywood remakes. There are even remakes of Swedish movies.. Like The girl with the dragon tattoo and Let me in. If i'm not mistaken the Swedish tv-series Humans got both a UK and a US remake. So when Hollywood is out of fresh ideas, they start remaking movies from other countries.

That's true, Jarcool. Swedish film industry has affected film industries in the UK and USA since the early 50s, just to mention Ingmar Bergman, Lars Molin and Mats Helge. I should say just one title that has affected most, Sommaren med Monika. The summer with Monica. From 1952.
Mats Helge's film industry company did really revolutionary movies in the whole Europe during the early 70s to the early 80s. Many western movies he produced in Sweden in English, mostly for the video market in the late 70s to the early 80s. He tried to continue with ninja movies but it stranded with only one movie, The ninja mission.
Lars Molin was a political and critical drama writer, he wrote about the Sweden's government's way to rule Sweden, just to mention the Royal toilet, the Potato dealer and of course the drama "Three loves". The Three Loves got exported to USA and the UK.
Ingmar Bergman's Hets is one of the biggest drama classic in the Swedish film productions, it's from 1944 and got exported after the WW2 to the rest of the European cinemas.

I´m a little ashamed that i haven´t seen any of their movies. Speaking of "Let me in". When i saw the Swedish version of the movie (Let the right one in) i got a little surprised when i ended up sitting next to the famous Swedish actress Ulla Skog. I wasn´t 100% sure it was her at the time. So i googled it up later, and aparently she had a show in or local Theater that weekend . Have you ever met actors/actresses in real life? I try to visit a Sci-fi convention in Gothenburg every year. There i have met quite a few actors. I also have a nice collection of autographs. I have met Dave Prowse, Lance Henriksen, Billy Boyd and Michael Madsen to name a few.

Wow, that's awesome. Well, I have met some celebrities who's actors. Not in cinemas but this was very special to me. I'm sure that you're not from Sweden know about this TV-drama, "A mid winter midnight duel" (En midvinternattsduel). It's written and directed by Lars Molin and it's produced by SVTdrama 1990/1991.
Its about a dairy farmer in the middle part of Sweden who owns a milk-bridge, this was very common during the 50s/60s when they transported milk with regular trucks, today its tank trucks. It's occur during winter and the road that the bridge stand at is always destroyed by the plow truck. The farmer is fighting for keeping his bridge because of the other farmers want to get him in a cooperative milk-bridge.
Anyway, in the end of the movie he's making the bridge made in concrete totally, and when the plow truck come to destroy his bridge it's the truck that got destroyed and the farmer won his fight.
Here's the funny part, the shooting was actually at a real farm and the milk bridge is still up, between the smaller towns Östhammar and Hallstavik. When I was around ten year old my parents visited the farm with me and my Bro, we stopped at the farm and took some photos of the bridge. It's very famous for my grandparent's generation actually.
Anyway, while we're there the owner of the farm came out to us and started to chat, he was the builder of the bridge even. That wasn't a big deal back for me, but today it's very uncommon among the fans of the small movie that today called "The Milk-bridge" having met the owner. The farmer passed away 2016. I have one photo with him together with me and my Bro and my father.
Its hanging on a honour place in my parent's living room nowadays.
