Let´s talk about movies. Didn´t find any other thread here (exept the official filmtrailer thread) about film. So i started this one. I hope it´s ok. Do you guys have any favorite movies? Recommendations? Favorite genres? Any special movie experiences? What was the last movie you saw in a movie theater? Or just talk about movies in general. Oh.. and let´s try to keep it spoiler free .

I saw "A quiet place" last weekend. A pretty interesting and exciting horror/thriller. It´s about a family trying to survive in a post apocalyptic world where you can´t make any sound. All sound or noice will attract dangerous creatures. I thought it was pretty good. The premise is very interresting and the movie has a lot of tension. The actors were all great too. I don´t think i have ever sat in a this quiet movie theater before .

There is a series of movies called Tremors, 4 to be exactly and just now I realized they made a number 5 in 2015. Anyway, part number 1 is my favourite from this series. It has just enough of unrealistic and funny/scary content in it. I´ve forgottten how many times I´ve seen it.

I have actually not seen Short Circuit. But i hear it´s good. Thanks for the tip Sir, PeterVader.
I remember Tremors being great back in the day. Haven´t seen it in years though.. And i wonder how it holds up today. I was never a fan of the sequels though.

Do you guys like Anime? One of my alltime favorite anime movies is "Princess Mononoke" by Hayao Miyazaki. A masterpiece in my opinion. Two of my other favorite animated movies are "Song of the sea" by Tomm Moore and "Kubo and the two strings" by Laika studios.

I think I have seen short curcuit but it must have been a long time ago, just watched a trailer and didn´t recall any of it.
Tremors lacks in quality today, the "special effects" feels kind of lame so to speak...
Anime isn´t something I have been watching I´m afraid, so I´ve no movie to recommend in that genre.
Two other old goodies: Who framed Roger rabbit and The Goonies.

the only anime i've seen is Pokemon probably. Also the Nintendo Wii had a Kirby Channel where they showed a Kirby anime, and a little 4 minute monster hunter anime they had on nintendo anime channel.

Ever since I was a child, my favourite has been Short Circuit. Loved Short Circuit!!! I did, however, prefer Short Circuit 2 over the original though. You already knew the back story so you didnt have to waste anytime with that. Johnny 5 was ready to adventure and there was more comedy. Perfect for a kid's attention span

I seriously about shit myself when I saw you guys in here talking about Short Circuit and Tremors! SC2 and Tremors were in my top 10 movies as a kid. Tremors had everything haha. The back and forth of the main characters was awesome (actually every character fits their part perfectly), great sci fi elements (the aliens and how they work), and a nerdy hot chick running in her underwear!

I thought it was just me who liked Tremors, cool to hear you like them too Joe ! When I searched a little I just realized they have made a number 6 too, released in May 2018. And apparently they were doing a TV show with the original character Kevin Bacon in it, but the network that were gonna broadcast it stopped the filming. A trailer is out on youtube like a monument of something we never will get a chance to see .

I've never seen Tremors myself though.

You should at least see the first of Tremors Peter, I think you will like it . What about movies made by Quentin Tarantino ? Anyone like them ? It´s difficult to say which of them I like best, he has a really odd (as in awesome) style. First building up an intense feeling and after a while the hell breaks lose. The latest of them "The hateful eight" were almost too much...

Not sure I've seen any of Tarantino's work, is Django Unchained one of his? I quite liked that.

I think Tarantino is a great director. And his movies are usually pretty good. His movies has an interresting style, well written characters and dialogues. And then there is the violence which usually is very gory and entertaining. I guess my favorites would be the Kill bill movies and Django unchained. Pulp fiction is of course a cult classic favorite aswell.

I read that Danny Boyle is going to direct the next Bond movie. And Daniel Craig will once more play 007. What do you guys think about that? I have never been a big fan of the Bond film franchise until Daniel Craig became Bond. I like the more "serious" tone these latast movies have had. So i was glad to hear thet he will play Bond once more. I am also a fan of Danny Boyles films. I think he is an talented director. He usualy has an interesting style to his movies, and has an inovative way of using camera angles. So naturally i´m curious how it will turn out. But i feel confident it will be at least wotrh watching as long as the script is good.

Yes Django unchained is his work . It´s an awesome film. Inglorious bastards is another of his movies, that´s a must see for fans of gore and violence. Love´s the accent Brad Pitt uses in it. Apparently Quentin uses music from his own private music collection in his films to create that speciell feeling they all have. Kill Bill is two of my favourites too. Pulp fiction are for some reason one of few movies from him I can´t say I like.

Almost ashamed to say I didn´t know who Danny Boyle was until I google him. Looks like I haven´t seen a single film made of him, weird.... Well, I hope he can make Bond the justice he deserves. In Earlier movies Bond was more of a gentlemen but with Daniel Craig he turned into a more hardcore action hero. I definitively like his style better then the old ones.

He has made many good movies in various genres. Sunshine is probably my favorite. A great space sci-fi thriller. 28 days later is a pretty interesting and different take on the zombie genre. He even made a Bollywood drama/thriller film with Slumdog milionare, which he won an Oscar for. And then he made a biography of Steve Jobs which i found very good and interesting.
