It will be clear where the idea of this topic came from if you read my Yooka Laylee impressions. So what have been your biggest disappointments in gaming?
Mine: Yooka Laylee - It's Banjo Kazooie minus any fun or good design. The Last Guardian - Had waited many years for this but it's broken, dated (unsurprisingly I guess) and irritating to play. Project Cars - looked like could be a cracking racer but hated it, terrible frame rate (on my xbox at least) and go-karts in particular felt broken. Super Paper Mario - Omg yes another Paper Mario RP....Wait what the hell is this shit? Super Bomberman R - What's with the movement? Why isn't it tied to a grid like it should be in a Bomberman game, also the awkward perspective in single player and boring levels.

StarFox Zero: waited since Lylat Wars on N64 for a StarFox game and we get this mess. The controls are so broken the game is virtualy unplayable.

So needless, I hope the days of Nintendo forcing their gimmicky controls on games that don't need them are over. After all, we spent enough on a pro controller!

Got a bunch but I'll start with Game and Wario on Wii U. It was pretty disappointing for me. My friends and I had a blast playing Wario Ware Smooth Moves on Wii, so when a new WarioWare game for the Wii U was announced we were all excited. And then we played it. No where near as fun, and it just fell flat. And at the time I didn't have many Wii U games so I was really excited for a new game and was completely let down

I had all the Wario Ware games (even Twisted which was never released here) but yeah, Game and Wario looked so disappointing. I hope they make another WW.

Mario 3d world. Just cannot deal with the camera angle it sux so bad it totally ruined it for me.
Sonic 3d games in general. He doesn't always have to be so fast, makes the levels forgettable and repetitive.
Back to the future. Nuff said!
Links crossbow training. Should've been a mini game with TP wii version.
MK8 deluxe. A port of a completed game with minimal additions that should've been MK9. Very disappointing!
1 2 switch. I just feel this looks utter pointless garbage man! It's crappy party games like this that hurt Nintendo’s image imo. Ive seen that ad waaaaay more than zelda ones.
There are more but i can't think!

Tony Hawks Underground (PS2) - After thps 3 and 4, the next game took away from the skating and added more of the jackass- type missions and stupid things to do. The levels became less playable and dumb too. After two GREAT games it just killed the series for me instantly.
Batman: Arkham Origins (WiiU) - After a surprisingly solid and fun game, Arkham City, I got this game on discount, and stopped playing it after a short while because of the glitches. The game is literally unplayable at times. There are missions where you need to kill the enemies, but regardless of what you do, the last one will ALWAYS get out of bounds inside a wall you can't reach, and need to reset the mission to try again. Life's just too short man...
Twilight Princess (Wii) - I first played the original Zelda on the NES for a bit, but after that knew nothing about the series. Wind Waker HD was the first Zelda game I played, and I LOVED that game. TP was my next... And I actually had to force myself to finish the game in the end. The controls were awful, the world was empty, and I hated the Wolf Link gameplay.
Bravely Default (3ds) - The first 20-30 hours were fun, but after that the game became worse and worse the more I played it. Another one I had to force myself to finish, just to see if the downhill kept going, and it did! So much bad game design in this one... I can't believe how anyone who's finished the game can give it a 9 or 10. They had a decent beginning, and messed everything up in the latter half of the game.
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X (PS2) - There's a thing that you need in one place or you can't move on. It's REALLY easy to miss it too. I couldn't go back to get it, and the game softlocked on me... Never again!
Every Silent Hill game after Silent Hill 2 - Kind of unfair, because Silent Hill 2 is the best horror game ever made, but still...
Mario Bros. (NES) - I played Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 on the NES. Then I found out about this game and well, it is what it is.

You didn't get the HD remake then! The Wolf Link parts (especially early on when you just want to get to the first dungeon) were the worst parts of the game. I liked it overall tho, Arbiters Grounds and Snowpeak Ruins were great. The final battle was awesome too.

I get what you mean by TP. I played it on GC and although I did enjoy it, there are parts of that game i never want to revisit. It's the only zelda game I've never returned to.
I'll need to give sonic boom a whirl!

Totally disagree on Twilight Princess and Code Veronica. Also Silent Hill 2 may well be the greatest survival horror game of all time!

I hate any game that let's you softlock on a single save file, and there are lots! Also, don't go throwing any maybies on Silent Hill 2 DigDougXD .. It is the best horror game ever made

Mario Bros. (NES) - I played Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 on the NES. Then I found out about this game and well, it is what it is. I too was disappointed when I first played this. I was very underwhelmed that's for sure. But that was a younger me. In high school my buddies and I would get stoned and play the battle mode on Mario 3 in Mario All Stars all the time. After our love for "battle" (that's what we called it) grew, we had to tear up the original from time to time. So it grew on me
