Today, Nintendo announced new Articles of Incorporation. Although the document may seem like a bunch of confusing mumbo jumbo, there is actually a purpose to it all.
These new Articles of Incorporation are a means for Nintendo to set itself up for new businesses. Medical and health devices, “computer software”, managing/investing in “eating establishments”, and IP licensing are all mentioned. Specifics were not detailed, though Kantan Games CEO Dr. Serkan Toto believes it may partially refer to Nintendo’s quality of life initiative or theme park plans.
The Articles of Incorporation go into effect on June 29. That’s the same day as Nintendo’s 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
